Dr Amanda Heffernan is a Lecturer in Leadership in the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Australia. She was a school principal in rural and remote schools in Queensland, before spending two years coaching and mentoring principals in a range of different rural and isolated school contexts. Pat goes full corporate for a national magazine

Dr Pat Thomson is Professor of Education in the School of Education, The University of Nottingham, UK. She was a school leader for twenty years, working in disadvantaged schools in South Australia. While most of her research is about the arts and cultural education in schools, communities and galleries, she keeps an eye on what is happening to the work that school leaders do.
